MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Morgantown High baseball team got off to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning, in Monday’s 9-2 win over Victor (N.Y.).
The Mohigans padded to their lead in the fourth inning, scoring four runs. Then turned around and scored three more in the sixth inning.
Carter Patrick, Devon Neal, Caleb Taylor and Zachary Owens each had two hits. Patrick and Neal each had two RBIs, too.
Colton Matthews got the win for Morgantown (17-2), pitching six innings and allowing just two runs on four hits. Charlie Petty came in relief in the final inning.
