Jury finds Preston man not guilty of attempted murder and making threats

KINGWOOD — A Preston County jury found John Richard Henson not guilty last week of attempted first-degree murder and threatening  terroristic acts.
Henson, 36,  was charged in February 2018 after  allegedly threatening to ram the gates at Camp Dawson to get to and kill a woman who worked there.
He was first indicted on the charges in March 2018. That indictment was dismissed at Assistant Prosecutor Savannah Wilkins’ request.
A superceding indictment was handed up by the October 2018 grand jury. That was the indictment on which the jury found Henson not guilty.
Another indictment, handed up in June 2018, charges Henson with child abuse resulting in bodily injury. That case is still unresolved.
