Betty Lee Metheny, 86, of Kingwood, formerly of Masontown, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019.
She was born in Bull Run, on June 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Franklin and Lillian (Spurgeon) Menear.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her skills as a seamstress. She also owned and operated Metheny’s Upholstery, in Reedsville, for a number of years.
Betty is survived by four sons and a daughter, Edward Metheny and wife Debbie, of Moorefield, Teresa Reynolds and husband Lonnie, of Terra Alta, Frank Metheny and wife Debbie, of New Freeport, Pa., Jeff Metheny and wife Cindy, of Bethel Park, Pa. and John Metheny and wife Connie, of Weston; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay Wilson and husband Brian, of Moorefield, Jacob Metheny and wife Lizzy, of Moorefield, Brent Metheny and wife Sarah, of Petersburg, Shanda McNew and husband Glen, of Albright, Shelley Hill and husband Craig, of Erie, Pa., Leslie Robey and husband Brad, of Core, Jackie Bellanca and husband Branden, of Hilliard, Ohio, Stephanie Metheny, of Wantagh, N.Y., Kelsey Metheny, of St. Louis, Mo., Levi Metheny, of Bethel Park, Pa. and Savannah Metheny, of Weston; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Metheny; one grandson, Kent Metheny; and infant twin grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home, in Masontown, from 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, until the 1:30 p.m. service time with the Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
