Charles Gillis

Charles Eugene Gillis, age 78, of Osage, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at WVU Medicine with his family by his side. Charles was born in Grafton, on April 29, 1940, a son of the late Andrew Daniel Gillis and Catherine Irene Workman Gillis.
Charles worked as a custodian for WVU for many years. In his free time, he loved being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Charles is survived by his wife, Bernadine Leona Townsend Gillis; daughters,  Barbara Todd and husband Michael, of Bobtown, Pa. and Loretta Ledsome and husband Danny, of Cassville; sons, Andrew Gillis, of Osage, Charles Allen Eddy, of Nashville, Tenn., and Richard Lee Eddy, of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Helen Chesney, Mary Piper, and Diane Lewis; brother, Kenny Gillis; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Gillis and Willard Gillis.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 28,  until the service  5 p.m. In honoring Charles’s wishes, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services after the funeral.
