Paul Warren Mattern, 80, of Maidsville, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Franklin, Pa., on Nov. 2, 1938, the son of the late Paul LeRoy and Minnie (Everett) Mattern.
Paul retired as a U.S. Postal Clerk after 35 years. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting, Lions Club, vacationing and spending time his family, especially his grandchildren.
Paul will be remembered by his loving wife of 48 years, Agnes (Adams) Mattern; children, Dwayne Mattern, Jackie Mattern, Scott Mattern (wife, Sarah) and Jen Riedmann (husband, Ed); grandchildren, Blake (Anna), Preston (fiance, Bethany), Jeffrey (Tieairra), Samuel, Isaac, Josiah and Aiden, his “Dutchman”; and sisters, Bonnie Stone and Virginia Kay Swanger.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters, Darley Mattern and Marsha Reed.
Family and friends will be received at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 North High St., from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, until the 11 a.m. service with Dr. Rev. Randall Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
