Paul Alfred Sisler, age 90, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, March 16, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 20, 1928, in Terra Alta, a son of the late Asa Ray Sisler and Ethel May Teets Sisler.
Paul was a Correctional Officer at the Kennedy Center Bureau of Prisons and was a decorated United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Lions and Kiwanis Club. Paul enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping at Big Bear Lake. He was also a skilled woodworker, creating handmade toys for many children.
Paul is survived by his wife, Delores Barnes-Sisler and they would have celebrated their 70th Anniversary on April 2. He is also survived by three sons, Paul Allen Sisler (Doris), of Morgantown, Kerry Sisler (Katherine Maxwell), of West Union, and Rodney Wayne Sisler (Darlene), of California, Pa.; two daughters, Sandra Lynn Love and Pamela Kay Sisler, both of Morgantown; grandchildren, Loretta Ann Davis, of Morgantown, Jaime Dolores McDonald, of Morgantown, Janice Renee Broadway, of Ky., Danielle Louristine Aretta Sisler, of Pa., Hillarie Loretta, of Morgantown, Anna Marie Loretta, of Morgantown, Nathaniel Jason Sisler, of Belleville, Ill., Courtney Dawn Sisler, of Minneapolis, Kaylee Elizabeth Spitak, of Pa., and Andrew William Spitak, of Pa.; great-grandchildren, Joel, Hanna, Evan, Abigail, Raegan, William, Madelyn, Alyssa, Lacey, Callie, Chance, Mia Rose, Autumn Marie, and Kaylee; and one sister, Betty Jean Strawser, of Terra Alta.
Paul was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheril Jean Shaffer; and two brothers, Carl Sisler and Bruce Sisler.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, March 18, and from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Bev Roscoe officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery with graveside military honors conferred by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and the WVANG military honors.
