MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — West Virginia coach Bob Huggins said the Mountaineers will not have the services of junior guard Beetle Bolden for Saturday’s game at Baylor.
“No, he’s still banged up,” Huggins said Thursday during the Big 12 media call.
Bolden suffered a high ankle sprain on Jan. 26, against Tennessee and has missed the team’s last six games.
He’s averaging a career-high 12.2 points per game this season.
The Mountaineers (10-16, 2-11 Big 12) travel to Baylor (17-9, 8-5), at 2 p.m. Saturday.
West Virginia will be down four starters for the game. Junior center Sagaba Konate has missed the team’s last 17 games with a right knee injury. Forwards Esa Ahmad and Wes Harris were dismissed from the team last week for a violation of athletic department policy.
Harris has since entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
The Bears beat West Virginia, 85-73, on Jan. 21. Bolden came off the bench that game to score 22 points. The Mountaineers are 3-3 all-time playing at the Ferrell Center.
