Mildred Elizabeth “Beck” Nicholson, 83, of Morgantown, went to be with her Lord and Savior as well as loved ones who have gone before her on Monday, February 18, 2019.
She was born July 28, 1935, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Dellis and Eva Lena Dalton.
Beck was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom; proudly served as pastor’s wife at Word of Life Tabernacle; and sang for 34 years on the Word of Life broadcast on WAJR.
Next to serving God, her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids, and especially her great-grandkids.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, the Reverend Elmer “Scoop” Nicholson; daughter, Carol Davis and late husband, Joe; son, Dewey Nicholson; son, Dave Nicholson and wife, Pam; son, Terry Nicholson and wife, Holly; daughter, Tracey Dailey and husband, Nathan; grandchildren, Carla Wheeler and husband, Rodney, David Nicholson, George Nicholson, Mike Davis and wife, Jennifer, Mark Davis and wife, Erica, Tiffany Fisher and husband, Landon, Andrea Nicholson, Stephanie Franks and husband, Rich, Elizabeth and Emily Sabatino; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Othie Dalton and wife, Rosie, Roger Dalton, Paul Dalton and wife, Barbara, Jean Nicholson and husband, Mike, Linda McDonald, Wilma Dalton and husband, Howard; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Dalton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a very special son-in-law, Joe Davis; brothers, Clem “Buck” Dalton and Marvin Dalton; father-in-law, George Nicholson and mother-in-law, Margie Nicholson.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, from 2 -4 p.m. and 6 -8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21. Visitation will continue on at Nicholson Chapel, Summer School Road, from 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, until the time of the service at noon with Pastor Norma Stimmell and the Rev. Glen Riggleman officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
