Cheat Lake native brings vision of modern fitness studio to life with Cycle Fusion

MORGANTOWN — When Leanne DiAngelo stepped into an empty 4,500-square-foot space, the vision for her ideal fitness center was already in the making.
Fast-forward six months and Cycle Fusion is the fitness center she envisioned.
The fitness center is near Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa, on Lakeview Drive. DiAngelo, a Cheat Lake native, said this type of establishment was needed in that location.
“There was nothing out here in the Cheat Lake area to accommodate this type of business … Cheat Lake needed something like this,” DiAngelo said.
The cycling studio holds up to 30 cyclers and DiAngelo is looking forward to the growth of her average class of 12. With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, her techniques have kept people coming back.
“I feel like once they come, their hooked,” DiAngelo said. “We have a very unique system here in our facility. For our cycling studio, we have a system that communicates with each bike individually.”
DiAngelo combines two services in a one-hour workout session, like cycling and yoga, and according to DiAngelo, providing two separate workouts complements each other.
DiAngelo opened her business in August.
Cycle Fusion has a “fresh” and “modern” studio style.
“I’ve always wanted to be able to offer something like this to my clientele,” she said. “It’s always been a passion of mine to have a studio.”
In addition to DiAngelo’s modern touch, her studio offers cycling, yoga, personal training and other custom workouts. A new type of exercise Cycle Fusion provides is aerial yoga, which is unique to this studio.
DiAngelo said each person who comes into the studio takes a “threshold test” designed to evaluate their strength and endurance, and results determine their ride. Cyclers can then personalize workouts to fulfill personal goals.
At the end of each class, the rider will be emailed results and are able to track progress as they move through a fitness plan created specifically for them.
DiAngelo said she likes to create unique sessions, including a Friday Night Date Night, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
The session will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday and will include wine and hors d’oeuvres at the conclusion of the workout. Whether it be a friend or significant other, DiAngelo said the goal is to bring a partner.
