Earl Ray Moyer

Earl Ray Moyer, 86, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.
Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Eugene Moyer and Marie Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Moyer; daughter, Sandi Crothers (Dave); son, Mark Moyer (Kerri); sister, Elda Lough, of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Kylie, Kristina (Greg), Kelsey, Alex and Danielle; nephews, Lewis Lough and Rodney Lough; and niece, Annette Dick.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Lang, of Bridgeport.
After graduating from Grafton High School, Earl enlisted in the Air Force and spent most of his four-year enlistment at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City, S.D. After leaving the Air Force, he enrolled at West Virginia University, where he received his degree in electrical engineering in 1958. The majority of his career was spent working for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Earl was a devoted WVU fan and Mountaineer. His favorite activity in retirement was watching WVU basketball and football.
A funeral service will be held at the Community Church, in Ocean Pines, Md., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.
