Douglas “Dusty” Wayne Rhodes, 70, of Masontown, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born April 22, 1948, in Philippi, son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Emma Jane Mace Rhodes.
Dusty graduated from Tunnelton High School, Class of 1966. He continued his education and received two Bachelors, one Masters and his Pastoral Degree. He was a Pastor for many years, and then retired as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist for Montgomery County, Md., with 22 years of service. Dusty had a radio show weekly on AM1450 called World Wide Living Faith Ministries.
Dusty is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Lyn Rosenblatt Rhodes; three sisters, Emma Jane Brazell and husband, Kenneth, Seminole, Texas, Frances Anna Bolyard, Kingwood, Velma Marcena Cross and husband, Donald, Kingwood; two brothers, Philip Franklin Rhodes and wife, Lana, Tunnelton, Thomas Nelson Rhodes and wife Nina, Clarksburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his four legged companion “Buddy”, who he enjoyed playing ball with.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine L Rhodes.
Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, from 2 -7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, and at the Faith Fellowship Assembly of God Church, in Tunnelton, from 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, until time of service at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Linn Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at the Shay’s Chapel Cemetery.
