CHARLESTON – Here is a sampling of bills introduced Feb. 7. Monongalia-Preston-Marion-area lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 544, to raise State Police salaries over a three-year period. Sponsored by all 34 senators.
SB 549, to authorize the Division of Natural Resources to solicit donations for the WVU rifle team on hunting and fishing license applications. Sens. Roman Prezioso, D-Marion, Bob Beach, D-Monongalia, Mike Maroney, R-Marshall, co-sponsors.
HB 2879, to authorize lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping licenses for foster or adoptive children.
HB 2881, to change county license plate colors from red with white lettering to purple with white lettering, and city places from blue with white lettering to yellow with black lettering.
HB 2886, to require the DMV to establish an office in every county with 25,000 or more people, with certain exceptions, or a kiosk in every county with population under 25,000, with certain exceptions. Delegate Amy Summers, R-Taylor, co-sponsor.
HB 2894, to create the offense of disturbing the peace by barking or howling dogs. Delegate Terri Sypolt, R-Preston, co-sponsor.
