CHARLESTON — Lavender Ward scored 13 points and the South Charleston girls’ basketball team pulled away from Morgantown High in the fourth quarter Wednesday for a 44-35 victory in the Little General Shootout.
Genevieve Potter added 10 points for the Black Eagles, who trailed, 27-26, heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored the Mohigans, 18-8, in the final quarter.
Sydni Clawges led the Mohigans (11-9) with 13 points and Kaitlyn Ammons added 10.
Morgantown will host Steubenville, Ohio, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
