Morgantown Police arrest pair on drug, auto tampering charges

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown Police arrested two men early Sunday morning on drug and auto tampering charges.
Joshua Hunter Bright, 24, and Steven Henry Hughes, 27, both of Morgantown, were arrested .
Bright was charged with possession of controlled substances, concealing stolen property and auto tampering. Hughes was charged with possession of controlled substances.
According to an MDP press release, at 2:53 a.m. officers responded to a report of suspects thought to be breaking into vehicles in the area of Webster Avenue.
The two suspects were found walking in the middle of Charleston Avenue, which intersects Webster.
After attempting to give officers false names, it was discovered that vehicles had been broken into on Theresa Drive, Webster Avenue, Spencer Avenue, Bluegrass Village and Gleaser Place.
One of the suspects was in possession of identification badges that were not his. Officers also found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on the pair.
Both are being held at North Central Regional Jail pending arraignment.
According to the press release, additional charges may be pending.
