A sampling of bills introduced Jan. 25

CHARLESTON – Here is a sampling of bills introduced Jan. 25. Monongalia-Preston-Marion-area lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 426, to the Road Maintenance Program for each district to contract with private contractors to perform certain road maintenance activities in each district. Sen. Dave Sypolt, R-Preston, lead sponsor.

SB 427, to include emergency response vehicles in the single-fee program for EZ Pass transponders. Sypolt, lead sponsor.

SB 429, to allow voters who register in person at the office of the county clerk to register and vote during early voting. Sen. Bob Beach, D-Monongalia, co-sponsor.

SB 439, to create five-year tax credits for industrial hemp manufacturing. Beach, lead sponsor.

SB 2664, the Refugee Absorptive Capacity Act, to plan for measures to accept refugees. Delegates Terri Sypolt and Buck Jennings, both R-Preston, co-sponsors.

HB 2665, from the governor, to transfer $105 million of surplus to the PEIA Rainy Day Fee fund.

HB 2685, the Refugee Information Act, to coordinate information on refugees in the state. Sypolt, Jennings, co-sponsors.
