MORGANTOWN — A package with marijuana found at Morgantown’s FedEx shipping center led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of several other types of drugs.
Fernald Donte Archibald, 27 and Gerrod B. Abram, 23, both of Detroit, are charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy.
On New Year’s Day, a suspicious package was intercepted at the FedEx hub and the Mon Metro Drug Task Force determined it contained marijuana with the help of a K-9, according to a criminal complaint.
The task force then delivered the package to its destination, Sgt. R. Jiles, task force commander, said.
After the package was accepted by the address’ resident, the task force searched the house where Abram and Archibald were found, a complaint stated.
Four types of drugs, including about 12 grams of crystal meth, 4.3 ounces of heroin, 2.4 ounces of crack and just under an ounce of marijuana were found in the search, Jiles said. The drugs were found in the kitchen and living room, a complaint said.
Except for the heroin, found in a lump on a plate, the drugs were packaged for sale. Four digital scales were found in the kitchen, as was a safe, the complaint stated. Jiles said the safe had about $6,000 in it.
Both men were arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. Bond was set at $100,000 each and Wednesday afternoon, neither had posted that amount. They are being held in North Central Regional Jail.
