Rudy Chase, 74, of Arnettsville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 26, 1944, in Fairmont, a son of the late Rudolph and Mary Nagy Chase.
Rudy worked for over 33 years with the Sterling Faucet Co. as an extruder operator. Upon his retirement, he worked at Summitt Hall in the food services department. In his retirement, Rudy could often be seen riding his bike from Arnettsville to Hagens and back, weather permitting, nearly 10 miles a day. He loved to fish, to tease his cousin Diana about politics and to visit his sister Carolyn’s home on Sundays. Rudy will always be in the hearts of the friends and family who loved him.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn and her husband, Herb Throckmorton, of Pentress; his brother, Dennis R. and his wife, Lori Chase, of Arnettsville; several nieces and nephews, Lori and Richard Sypolt, of Wana, Kristen and Roy Hess, of Shinnston, Chris and Melissa Throckmorton, of Bridgeport, Chuck and Ashley Chase, of Morgantown, John and Heather Chase, of Nutter Fort, Hayden Chase and Caleb Lough, both of Arnettsville, and Rosemary Chase, of Louisville, Ky., as well as 15 great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for the kind care given to Rudy over the last month.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Chris Throckmorton, Roy Hess, Richard Sypolt, Chuck Chase, John Chase, Caleb Lough, Hayden Chase and Logan Hess.
Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, until the 11 a.m. funeral with Pastor Roger Morrison officiating, with Mary Bane to speak. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, in Fairmont.
