MORGANTOWN — The Morgantown High girls’ basketball team used its defense to pick up a convincing 54-17 win over St. Albans on Saturday.
The Mohigans’ stingy defense was the difference in the game, allowing St. Albans to make just six baskets in the contest.
Sydni Clawges was the leading scorer for Morgantown (5-6) with 12 points. Maddie Seman followed with 10.
The Mohigans struggled to score in the first half, only scoring 21 points, but scored 33 in the second half to pad their lead.
Morgantown will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday against Parkersburg South.
