Mon HealthFair gets new date, location

MORGANTOWN — Mon Health Medical Center knows its annual HealthFair is popular and important to area residents.
In an attempt to make it even better for those who take advantage of the offered screenings and information, the hospital is changing the date and location this year.
The HealthFair is moving out of winter to June 8. And, the event will move to the Mon Health Medical Center campus from its previous Morgantown Mall location.
“Based on feedback from our community, we believe this change will make access to our health screenings and information from our partners more accessible,” Karol Koast, Mon Health Medical Center HealthFair coordinator said in a press release. “The event will not be impacted by unpredictable winter weather and the new location will provide an opportunity to see the wide range of services we offer.”
To accommodate those who typically have multiphasic blood analysis screenings in February, Mon Health Medical Center will be offering these screenings on Feb. 23, March 2 and March 12, according to the release.
The Feb. 23 and March 2 multiphasic screenings will be from 7-11 a.m. in the Hazel Ruby McQuain Conference Center at Mon Health Medical Center. The March 12 multiphasic will be from 7-10 a.m. at the Mountaineer Mall on Green Bag Road. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins will be accepted.
Cost of the multiphasic is $30. A Prostate Specific Antigen screening (PSA/men only) and a Thyroid (TSH) screening may be added for an additional $15 each. For the most accurate results, participants must fast for 12 hours prior to the screening.

The June 8 HealthFair will be at Mon Health Medical Center, 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive; Mon Health Medical Park, Mon Health Medical Park Drive; and Mon Health EMS, 801 J.D. Anderson Drive.
