HAMILTON — The Preston boys’ basketball team grinded out a road win in a tough environment at Tucker County on Tuesday night, 74-56, behind 25 points from Nick Smith.
Smith scored 11 points in the third quarter, where the Knights outscored Tucker, 25-8, to pull away.
“That’s definitely when we took control in the third quarter — Nick Smith had a lot to do with that,” head coach Paul Koontz said. “It was a hard fought, tough win as always.”
Corey Pyles also scored in double-figures for the Knights, finishing with 15 points.
PHS (2-6) will host East Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
