Mary Lucille Trader Statler, 84, of Core, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was born January 19, 1934, in Pursglove, daughter to William Harry Trader and Edna Starkey Trader.
Nothing was more important to Miss Lucille than family. She worked hard as a homemaker to care for her children, no matter the sacrifice. Miss Lucille was a meticulous housekeeper and was not afraid to speak her mind.
She was the best playmate and was adored by her children, nieces, nephews and especially her grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Pride and husband Richard and Kay Weber and husband Jim, all of Core; two sons, Victor Statler and wife Snooks, of Jakes Run and David Yocum, of Morgantown; one sister, Nola Barr and husband Jimmy, of Daybrook; seven grandchildren, Raealena Raber and husband JR, Vicki Sayers and husband Duane, Anita Milliron and husband Randy, Keith Statler, Jimmy Weber and wife Monica, Shelly Patchen; and 18 great-grandchildren, Cody, Logan, Faith, Grace, Kevin and wife Stephanie, Tyler, Derrick, Hana, Levi, Lexi, Damon, Christopher, J, Ember, Amrei, Diesel, Hannah and Nick.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Edna; her husband of 52 years, Donald Statler; two brothers, Junior and Mike Trader and one sister, Betty Reese.
Family will receive friends at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 2 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, and from 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastors Rose Saunders, John Morrison and Jim Weber officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the St. Luke Cemetery, Mooresville.
