MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — University High’s boys’ basketball team had its hands full with Florence (Miss.) on Saturday, faltering 58-54, in the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“We just didn’t have much energy until about four minutes to go in the game,” UHS coach Joe Schmidle.
The Hawks (7-2) struggled with foul trouble and Florence’s length — getting outrebounded in the contest, particularly on the offensive end of the court.
Kaden Metheny was the leading scorer for University with 23 points and K.J. McClurg netted 10.
The Hawks will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Parkersburg.
