Morgantown City Council candidate packets available Jan. 2

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown residents interested in running for Morgantown City Council can obtain a candidate packet beginning Jan. 2.
Candidates must be 18 years of age by the election date, must be a qualified voter of the state of West Virginia and must live within Morgantown city limits.
The 2019 candidate packet may be obtained from the city clerk’s office in City Hall — 389 Spruce St., Room 10 — or from the City of Morgantown website, morgantownwv.gov by clicking the link under City Clerk, Elections.
Certificates of Announcement must be filed in the city clerk’s office between Jan. 7-Feb. 11. All mailed Certificates of Announcement must be post marked no later than Feb. 11, 2019.
The Morgantown City Council election is April 30.
