MORGANTOWN — University Town Centre in Granville is gaining another restaurant and entertainment venue. Smokin’ Jack’s will open its second Monongalia County location.
The company signed a deal with Wal-Mart and will be located in the super store’s parking lot, across from Premier Chevy, said J.D. Mann, chief executive officer for Smokin’ Jack’s.
Construction is expected to be complete in August 2019, he said.
“We have been embraced by the greater Morgantown area, and our new Granville location will knock everybody’s socks off,” Mann said.
The restaurant offers a variety of smokehouse food, including fan favorite fresh chicken wings, Mann said, adding that ribs and steaks are also staples. Smokin’ Jack’s also offers more than 25 homemade sauces.
And, as Mann said, it’s a family atmosphere where live music acts can perform on a regular basis.
Smokin’ Jack’s has served Preston County its smokehouse favorites for more than 30 years at its Reedsville location.
In July, Smokin’ Jack’s moved in at the former Schmitt’s Saloon site on Cheat Road.
“Smokin’ Jack’s is about having a great time in a great atmosphere,” Mann said.
Smokin’ Jack’s has plans for more locations and ventures in the area, Mann said. He will release more details in the new year.
