Carl Richard Moury, age 92, of Tunnel Hill Road, Tunnelton, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at his residence.
He was born November 4, 1926, in Tunnelton, a son of the late William Edward and Ida May (Ruckle) Moury.
He is survived by one son, William Edward Moury, of Tunnelton; four grandchildren, Jason, Alissa, Erin and Kristen; five great-grandchildren, Zenobia, Faith, Mariah, Paxton, and Hayley; his son-in-law, Jerry Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Moury was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Payne) Moury, who passed away December 4, 2005; one daughter, Sharon Parker; one grandson, Carl Richard Moury; and several brothers and sisters.
Carl graduated from Tunnelton High School then served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for Tappan and Standard Steel as a supervisor in Elyria, Ohio, for over 40 years. He was a member of the VFW Tunnelton Post 2345.
He enjoyed woodworking, making model airplanes, and loved West Virginia.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, in Grafton, from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23. A graveside service will be held at the WV National Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 24, with Pastor Rotha Hall officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Army National Guard from Kingwood.
