Into God’s Holy arms Clark “Junior” Linger, 89, passed December 7, 2018. He was born October 15, 1929, in Morgantown, a son of the late Gary and Lelia (Flowers) Linger.
Clark was a member of Johnson Chapel UMC. He proudly served his country in the US Army for 21 years. While serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war, he earned many medals and accommodations including the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Korean Presidential Citation.
His passion was working on anything and everything that needed worked on. When not working on projects he was making lists of things to do next. He adored his family and friends and always had a prank or joke in the works. Life with Clark can be described as unpredictable and his family is certain that heaven has become a little more ornery with his addition.
He is survived by his lifelong love and spouse of 65 years, Geraldine “Jerry” Tichenor; daughter, Diana Holdren and husband Jim; son, Kevin Linger; grandchildren, Joshua Holdren and wife Kassi, Kendra Beland and husband Ridge, and Nathan Linger; great-grandson, Koah; Christa Scott, who recently became a special part of our family; brother, Roger Linger and wife Kay; and sister, Geraldine Bubnick.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by siblings, Mary Stump, Betty Champine, Charles Linger and Roy Linger.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, and from 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Goodin officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 5006 Mid Atlantic Dr, Morgantown, WV 26508.
