MORGANTOWN — Three-star receiver Deshon Stoudemire has decommitted from West Virginia, opening up another slot in the runup to the early signing period.
In a tweet Friday, Stoudemire relayed:
“I appreciate the coaching staff at WVU for offering and accepting me into their fold but I need more time to find my home for the next 4-5 years. After a conversation with my coach and my mother I am announcing I’m decommitting from West Virginia and opening my recruitment up once again.”
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Stoudemire from Stone Mountain, Ga., holds offers from Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio State, Louisville and Michigan State.
The Mountaineers have two other receivers committed for 2019 class — four-star Isaiah Hazel of Maryland and Winston Wright of Savannah, Ga. — and they are the leaders for three-star Ali Jennings of Highland Springs, Va.
West Virginia’s class ranked 44th nationally by Rivals and 47th by 247Sports before Stoudemire’s decommitment.
