Jarred Benjamin Parrott, 37, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the UPMC Hospital, in Pittsburgh. He was born January 28, 1981, in Cincinatti, Ohio, a son of Timothy Lee Parrott and Melinda Malloy Parrott.
Jarred was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country for 11 years, with two tours in Afghanistan. He was extremely passionate about equality and human rights for all, prompting him to become a contributing founder of Marion County Indivisible. Jarred cared deeply for others, often placing them above himself. He impacted the lives of so many because he lived his life full of love and compassion.
Jarred was a superhero to his son Olliver, who was the love of his life.
Survivors include his former wife and mother of his child, Tina Renee (Sapp) Parrott; his four year old son, Olliver Gibson Parrott; two sisters, Gina (Deron) Neff, of Amanda, Ohio and Dawn (Brian) Hetterich, of Liberty Township, Ohio; one brother, Brett (Sara) Parrott, of Memphis, Tenn.; his father-in-law, Robert Sapp, of Fairmont; his mother-in-law, Catherine Humphrey, of Fairmont; his sister-in-law, Angela (Michael) Burnside, of Morgantown; and his brother-in-law, Robbie (Kaitlyn) Sapp, of Carrollton, Va.; and several nieces and nephews, Hayley and Brayden Neff, Alyssa, Matthew, Nicolas and Jack Hetterich, Kiersten and Kylea Lopez, Haidyn Burnside, Kayleigh, Emma and Owen Sapp.
Friends and family may call the Hutson Funeral Home, in Farmington, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, with the funeral service to follow directly after and internment will follow at the IOOF cemetery, in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, checks made payable to Olliver Parrott may be sent to 324 Katy Rd., Fairmont, WV 26554, to be used to establish an educational fund.
