Howard “Jack” Jackson Trickett, 74, of Hartville Ohio, son of the late Joseph and Myra Wilkins Trickett, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, surrounded by family after a short illness.
Born Aug. 15, 1944, in Gladesville, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie (Ochsenhirt); four sons, Jim (Nichole Sorensen), Steve (Vicki), Mike (Michelle) and Ben (Alison); 13 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucille Hovatter; brother-in-law Jim Tharp; nephew, Chris (Jennifer) Trickett; niece, Amy Trickett; and many extended family members.
Jack was affectionately known as Beaner, Beanie and Boxie; nicknames given to him by his father.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Dave, Stan and Jimmy; and sister, Marty Tharp.
Jack was a 1962 graduate of Morgantown High School. In 1966, he hitchhiked from West Virginia to Akron, Ohio, where he worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber, and earned his BA from Kent State University. After 26 years at Firestone, he retired in 1992 as director of natural rubber purchasing. After retirement, he started his business, envirOpak, where he invented the Slip-Tray Pallet to replace wood pallets and traveled around the world.
Jack loved spending time with his family, deer hunting and four-wheeling in the hills of West Virginia.
