Week 13 AP top 25 ballot: West Virginia drops to 11th

MORGANTOWN — It was an uneventful week in the top 10 for most of college football — the SEC had its annual gimme November weekend, while everyone else took care of business, except West Virginia.

The Mountaineers lost a heart-breaker to Oklahoma State in Stillwater 45-41 when the Cowboys scored the go-ahead touchdown in the final minute of the game.WVU dropped from from No. 7 down to No. 11 in the latest ballot.

The loss likely ended any chance WVU had of reaching the College Football Playoff, but with Texas’ win over Iowa State, the Mountaineers can still reach the Big 12 Championship with a win over No. 6 Oklahoma at 8 p.m. Friday at Milan Puskar Stadium. The game will be aired on ABC.

The AP poll will be released at about 2 p.m. Sunday.
