Melton (Butch) Glen Johns born November 26, 1951, originally from Morgantown, he passed away on September 24, 2018, surrounded by family and friends at Polymedic Hospital, in the Philippines.
Butch is survived by his wife, Myla Johns; his four children, Christopher Johns (wife Jan), of Morgantown, Bobbie Lynn Lewis (husband Greg), of Morgantown, Michellle Miller, of Barracksville, and Mathew Benedict Johns, of Buenvista Cagayan de Oro, Philippines; and several grandchildren.
He was a retired truck driver and worked for the Fraternal Order Police Charities for many years helping under privileged children. Butch loved to travel and see new places. He enjoyed being outdoors, even took up interest in gardening and cooking foods from the Philippino culture. His children grew up to listening to him play all types of songs on his guitar, especially songs by Willie Nelson.
He truly loved his family. Even after he moved to the Philippines with his youngest son he kept in touch with his kids and grandchildren via facetime as much as possible.
Services were held at Golden Haven Memorial Park, in the Philippines, at 2 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 27.
