Arnold James ‘Jim’ Rowan, 82, of Kingwood, formerly of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the home of his daughter.
The son of the late Charles H. and Virgie Kelley Rowan he was born September 8, 1936, in Booth.
Jim was a United States Air Force veteran and a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a retired coal miner from Federal #2 and previously worked at Beaumont Glass Factory. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and loved antique cars. He loved watching football and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music.
He is survived by his son, Mike Rowan; a daughter, Heather Rowan; two brothers, Larry Rowan and Chuck Rowan; a sister, Carol Powers; and three nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rowan; a daughter, Michelle Renee Rowan; a son, Trace Bryan Rowan; a sister, Charlotte Rowan; and a nephew, Larry L. Rowan.
Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, and from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, until the 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Pisgah Cemetery, in Morgantown.
