Albert Arthur Darnell, 81 of Gans, Pa., died on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 21, 1937, at Cheat Neck, the son of Albert Franklin Darnell and Ruth (Cress) Darnell.
His parents; wife of 51 years, Shirley Jean (Swihart) Darnell; siblings, Sarah Salisbury, Elaine Bishop, Johnny Darnell, Nellie Marie Schrout, Earl W. Darnell and Bertha P. Swihart and a loving nephew, Jacob Darnell, all preceded him in death.
Surviving are his seven daughters and spouses, Regina Darnell, Debbie Kelley and Roy, Brenda Reese and Donald, Donna Darnell and Johnnie, Bonnie Medved, Louann Lavitsky and Bob and Cathy Phares and Chubbs; one son and spouse, Randy Darnell and Debbie; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Linda H. King; nieces and nephews and his two loving dogs, Link and Ally.
Albert loved spending summers at Big Bear Lake, playing bingo, hunting, fishing and going on fishing trips to Canada.
The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, in Fairchance, Pa., from 4 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, and from 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, until the 11 a.m. funeral service.
Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery, in Monongalia County.
