John F. Tomasic, 79, of Lost Creek, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, at his residence. He was born in McKeesport, Pa., on June 21, 1939, a son of the late John and Josephine (Sauers) Tomasic.
In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Dane and Stephen Joseph Tomasic.
Mr. Tomasic is survived by his wife of 42 years, Katy; two sons, John Tomasic (wife Chris) and William Tomasic (wife Kristin), all of Greensburg, Pa.; one sister and three brothers, Charlene “Sis” Pruitt (husband Danny), of Ohio, David Tomasic (wife Patti), of Pa., Michael Tomasic (wife Rebecca), of N.M., and Joseph Tomasic (wife Sue), of Calif.; three granddaughters, Ali, Juliane, and Kacey Tomasic, all of Pa.; and a close friend, Creed Ward, of Volga.
John graduated from Temple and was a nuclear engineer for many years. He was a man of many talents, and with his creative character loved to design and build many things, especially if it was to “make them more beautiful.” John loved sharing his knowledge with others, and as teenagers worked his sons to construct a house. He also had a love for the water.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main Street, in Clarksburg, from noon on Thursday, November 1, until 2 p.m. at which time funeral services will be conducted. A graveside service with interment will take place at the St. Joseph Cemetery, in North Versailles, Pa., at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2.
