William E. “Bill” Wilson, 48, of Westover, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1969, in Fairmont, a son of William E. Wilson Sr., of Ohio, and Helen Hinkle Stuyvesant, of Westover.
Bill was employed at Mon Health Medical Center as a clinical assistant in the operating room. He was a devoted Westover public servant, serving as a city councilman for 16 years. Bill was a true family man, who loved spending time with his family, camping, riding his motorcycle and being with his best friend and canine companion, Diesel.
In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his wife, Michelle Haines Wilson; three sons, Jared William Wilson and wife, Megan, of Hurricane, Justin Dale Wilson and Tyler Andrew Wilson, both of Westover; sisters, Christina Wilson Gerard, Heather Wilson Collins, Alicia Stuyvesant Stewart and Hollie Renee Stuyvesant; brothers, Joseph Wayne Wilson, Joseph Summers, Jeffery Scott Sturgeon, Scott Shinkle and Kevin Shinkle; stepmother, Brenda Wilson; stepfather, John Stuyvesant; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Road, Suite 250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Bishop William Page officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
