Dolores Luvern Phillips, 89, of Tunnelton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
She was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Ohio, daughter of George and Florence Blyth Lance.
Dolores was a homemaker. She loved going to church, singing, writing recipes and making recipe books. Dolores enjoyed watching TV with her husband, Rodney. She was a member of the York Run Church and played the piano for years.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband whom she married March 5, 1960, Rev. Rodney Niles Phillips Sr.; four sons, Rodney Niles Phillips Jr. and Wanda, of Redfield, Ark., Richard Allan Phillips and Kathryn, of Vienna Ill., James Ernest Phillips, of Woodstock, Va., and Donald Harlen Phillips, of Chicago; one daughter, Roxann K. Shipley and Joseph, of Morgantown, Ind.; one sister, Lois Hacker, of Martinville, Ind.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Phillips; one daughter, Billie Lee Phillips; five brothers, Donald Lance, Dale Lance, Darrel Lance, George Lance and Jimmy Lance; and three sisters, Hildred Ramm, Eva Lewis and Velma Elder.
Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, from 1-7 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, until the 11 a.m. service with Pastor Richard Bolyard officiating.
Interment will follow at Camp Ground Cemetery.
