Isaac P. Long Jr., 82, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away Oct. 13, 2018, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born Aug. 22, 1936, in Charleston, and attended public schools there. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1959, with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a United States Navy veteran. He started his career with the DuPont Co. in Old Hickory, Tenn., and ended it in Wilmington. After leaving Dupont, he continued his interest in real estate development and property management.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac P. Long Sr.; his mother, Flossie Tutwiler Long; and sister, Jane A. Thompson.
He is survived by his loving cousins, Anise and Gale Catlett, Krista Neumann and family, Kara Brown and family and Nancy Montague and family; as well as many devoted friends.
He was dearly loved by all. He was such an important part of our family and will be greatly missed by all. We thank God for the blessing he was to all who knew and loved him.
Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Charleston. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
