Burhyl E. Dunn, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at WVU Medicine Hospice.
He was born July 18, 1926, in Morgantown, a son of the late Amos E. Dunn and Hazel Johnson Dunn.
Burhyl was a 1944 graduate of MHS and was the former owner of General Plumbing and Heating. He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in both Korea and Japan. His hobbies were woodworking, and he loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion.
Burhyl is survived by three daughters, Diana J. (Ronald) Ours, of Morgantown, Brenda S. (Kenneth) Mealey, of Morgantown, and Beverly L. Dunn and fiancée, Tom Hewitt, of Morgantown, sister, Mitzi (Bill) McKinley, of Salisbury, N.C.; grandchildren, Jodi (Mark) Ours-Rudolph, Gretchen Ours, Jason (Crystal) Mealey, Jennifer Arcaro, Kristi (Randy) McCartney and Brittani Dalton; eight great-grandchildren; and his canine companion, Peanut.
Burhyl was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Loraine Dunn.

Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, until the noon funeral service with the Rev. Lisa Crone-Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery with graveside military services conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG funeral honors.
