Jehu Darrell Bolyard, 92, of Terra Alta. passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, with family by his side.
He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Tunnelton, the son of the late Arless and Gertrude Knotts Bolyard.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Jehu was a coal miner and electrician and retired from Island Creek Coal Co. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Darrell Bolyard and wife, Debbie, of Swanton, Md.; his three daughters, Nancy Sturgeon, Marietta Hershman and Wanda Sines and husband, Sonny, all of Terra Alta; his sister, Nona Sheets, of Tunnetlon; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Elsie M. Bolyard in 2009; a daughter, Shirley; a son, Arless; five brothers, Donald, Harvey, Junior, Carrold and Dewey; three sisters, Connie, Delores and Nellie; a grandson, Timothy Fultz; granddaughter, Melisa Fultz; great-grandson, Zachary Fultz; and two sons-in-law, Allen Hershman and George Sturgeon.
Family and friends may call at Browning Funeral Home, in Kingwood, from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, and from noon Friday, Oct. 19, until the 2 p.m. funeral with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Israel Cemetery, in Fellowsville.
