Carolyn Sue Hagedorn, 72, of Terra Alta, passed away peacefully, on Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn was born December 28, 1945, in Morgantown, to the late Lou Willa (Turner) and Paul Blake Phillips.
She married the love of her life, Eldon Hagedorn, on June 9, 1962, celebrating 56 years together. They have three kids, Pamela Sue Hagedorn, Mark Eldon Hagedorn and wife Robin, Kevin Edwin Hagedorn.
Her pride and joy were her grandkids, Adam Lipscomb and wife Heather, Kayla Riley and husband Matt, Zachary Lipscomb and fiancé Heather, Jamie Mayle and husband Jesse, Larry Hagedorn and wife Maria, Amanda Harteis and Becca Hagedorn. She also loved her great-grandkids, Addison, Hadleigh, James Wayne (J.W.) Lipscomb. Lila, Eli, and Bristol Riley, Gracie, Karsyn, Payton and Norah Mayle, Riley Hagedorn, Noah Lipscomb and Aubrey Harteis, plus two more on the way.
She is also survived by one sister, Patricia and husband Darrell Greer; two nieces, Leigh Ann Bean and Tracy Donham and one nephew, Mike Hagedorn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Alpha and Mable Hagedorn; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Helen Phillips; grandson, Brian Hagedorn; two nephews, Jeff Greer and Rick Phillips and one daughter-in-law, Tonya Hagedorn.
Nan was an avid hunter who loved spending time outdoors and with her family. She was a member of Freeland United Methodist Church and a lifelong member of the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Life Gate Church, in Terra Alta, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, and the service will continue at The Hagedorn Farm, 2973 Freeland Road, in Terra Alta. Please bring lawn chairs and a covered dish.
