Beverly Jo Core, age 77, of Core, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born December 11, 1940, in Morgantown, the only child of the late Guy and Lillian Rose Hinerman.
Beverly was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and loved going to all their sporting events whether home or away. Her motto was “Once a Cee Bee always a Cee Bee”. She received a legislative teaching scholarship to attend West Virginia University and taught science at Morgantown Junior High.
Beverly was active in the Core community, serving as a 4-H Leader of the Core All-stars and 4-H camp counselor. She was active in the Dolls Run Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. She was a volunteer at the Core Community Center and a member of the Core Community Builders.
Beverly was a true farmer’s wife, working alongside her husband, where she bottle fed calves and lambs and drove the tractor to bale hay in the summer. Her hobbies were attending WVU Basketball games, gardening, canning, camping in Hampshire County and was definitely a cat lover.
Beverly is survived by her son, Robert Core, of Core; one daughter, Linda Core Weber and husband Gary, of Westover; brother-in-law, Bill and Neoma Core, of Okla. and numerous cousins.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Lynn Core; brother-in-law, Charles “Buck” Core; brother and sister-in-law, JoAnn Core Coen and Earl Coen.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Core Community Center at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.
