MORGANTOWN — After reviewing video footage, officers from the Morgantown Police Department have arrested a Morgantown man for allegedly breaking into a vehicle downtown.
According to the criminal complaint: At about 12:14 a.m. Sept. 28, officers responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle on Chestnut Street. There were no signs of forced entry and there was no damage to the vehicle at the time of the incident. Officers then encountered a suspect and identified him as Shawn Patrick Barkley, 47. Following the investigation, the police got video footage of Barkley entering the vehicle and taking a computer and a Voltmeter. Barkley was arrested for grand larceny at about 2 a.m. Sept. 30, at his residence.
He is detained at North Central Regional Jail. The property has not been recovered.
