St. Albans at University, 7:30 p.m.
If there was ever a time for the University offense to shine, Friday will be it.
The Hawks have struggled following an undefeated 2017 season, in large part because of major losses in the trenches and on defense.
If there is one unit that is certainly still functioning at a high level, though, it’s the offense.
University averages 359 yards per game heading into this weekend, with senior quarterback Logan Holgorsen leading the charge with 1,345 yards and 15 touchdowns passing, and 99 yards and one touchdown rushing.
St. Albans allows an average of 48 points per game, has been shut out on three of five occasions and has sacrificed 60-plus points twice thus far. Such a weak defense could potentially set the stage for an offensive outburst from the Hawks that the Red Dragons will be hard-pressed to keep up with.
The Hawks enter reeling from back-to-back losses, and while a win would get them back to .500, a loss could send them spiraling even further, severely damaging their playoff hopes.
