Richard Dywayne Parker, 55, of McCurdsville, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh. Richard was born in Fairmont on September 30, 1962, the son of Arthur Dolan Parker of Jake’s Run and the late Wilma Jean (Coen) Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Gower Parker, of McCurdysville.
In addition to his wife and father, Richard is survived by two daughters, Brandy Parker and her fiancé Richard Saltsman, of Maidsville and Megan Riggleman and her husband Jeremiah, of McCurdysville; three grandchildren, Cameron Parker, Rocky Riggleman and Jada Merrifield; a sister, Heather Lemley and her husband Don; and a mother-in-love, Claida Gower.
In addition to his mother, Richard was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roy Gower.
Richard was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and worked in construction for Ocean Construction, in Morgantown. He attended McCurdysville Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, in Rivesville, from 7 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, from noon – 2 p.m. and 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, and from 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1, until 11 a.m. for the funeral service with the Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. A committal service will follow at McCurdysville Cemetery.
