MORGANTOWN — After dropping the first set 25-21, University High’s volleyball team rallied to defeat Wheeling Park High on Tuesday — winning three-straight sets (25-19, 25-20, and 25-12).
Lauren Huggins recorded 31 assists in the win, Olivia Kaddar and Ashten Boggs had 12 kills, and Malia Richardson had 11 kills. UHS (11-4) will play again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Brooke High.

PARKERSBURG — Morgantown High’s volleyball team swept Parkersburg South High on Tuesday night — winning all three sets by scores of 25-22, 28-26, and 25-22.
Madison McDonald recorded 14 kills and Alayna Corwin had 10 assists in the victory. MHS (13-3) will play again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Brooke High.
Girls’ soccer
Preston 1, Grafton 0
KINGWOOD — Preston High’s girls’ soccer team was victorious Tuesday night blanking Grafton High 1-0.
Megan Noss scored the only goal for PHS (8-5) with the assist from Sydney Davis. Preston had a 9-3 shot advantage in the win and goalkeeper Kinley Manko recorded three saves. Preston will play again at 6 p.m. on Monday at home against Northern Garrett High (Md.).
Middle school football
Morgantown — Suncrest 44, Preston 6: Suncrest Middle School’s Drew Boczek threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Davon Eldridge — Boczek also scored on a 12-yard touchdown run and scored three two-point conversions. Eldridge finished with 175 yards rushing, including touchdown runs of 55 and 45 yards. Bobby Powell scored a five yard touchdown run and Gage Pettis returned an interception for a touchdown from 30 yards out. This was the third-straight win for Suncrest (3-2).
