Prep roundup: University High stays unbeaten with 3-1 win vs. Bridgeport

MORGANTOWN — The University High boys’ soccer team took down Bridgeport, 3-1, to remain undefeated on the season.
Joseph Biafora scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner early in the second half as both teams battled through rain at Mylan Pharmaceuticals Stadium.
Mason Shockley assisted on both of Biafora’s goals, and Biafora returned the favor for the final goal of the game, finding Shockley to score the clincher late.
The Hawks (10-0) will host Hedgesville at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Volleyball
BLACKSVILLE — The Clay-Battelle volleyball team split its matches Monday night in a tri against Paden City and Trinity.
The Cee-Bees took the first match against Paden City, 2-1 (25-9, 25-19, 21-25). Alexis Pride had four aces, Lily Currence had nine digs, Hailey Carreon had four kills and Lexie Foley had three blocks.
In the second match, C-B fell to Trinity, 2-0 (25-21, 25-15). Anna Yost had 12 digs, Hailey Carreon had three kills and Alexis Pride had eight assists.
For the Warriors, Rachel Rosen and Reagan Sharp had 10 blocks each, combined between their matches with Clay-Battelle and Paden City. Morgan Mullens added seven blocks, while Kate Dlugos had six. Dlugos has six aces, Paige Dixon had 10 assists and Mullens added seven, and Jaclyn Smith had 30 digs.
In the match with Paden City, Trinity lost 2-0 (25-20, 21-25).
Trinity (10-2) will host South Harrison and Clay-Battelle at 6 p.m. Sept. 25. The Cee-Bees (4-3) will travel to Madonna at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
