MORGANTOWN — Monongalia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported robbery Saturday at First United Bank, 7 Chaplin Road in Morgantown. It happened at about 10:15 a.m. According to a post on the police department’s Facebook page, witnesses reported that a white man walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller.
Bank security footage showed the male was wearing a dark hat, sunglasses, bandana-style face cover, long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and had grayish-looking facial hair.
The suspect then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and got onto a motorcycle that was in a nearby parking lot. He was last seen traveling north on Blue Horizon Drive just past the Chaplin Road intersection. No one was injured during this incident. Officers with the West Virginia State Police and Granville Police Department assisted deputies with the call.
