Jackie Earl ‘Jack’ McGinnis, 71, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1947, in Morgantown, a son of the late John McGinnis, Sr. and Eleanor McGinnis.
Jack served his country honorably, during the Vietnam War, as member of U.S. Air Force. After his discharge from the service Jack worked as a taxi driver and later drove people to doctors and other various appointments. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with his hands on cars and other mechanical items.
He is survived by a son, Jackie E. McGinnis, Jr.; step-son, Kenny R. Gregory, both of Fairmont; brother, Roger McGinnis and wife Debbie, of Morgantown; sisters, Jane M. Gatian and husband Larry, of Jane Lew, Beverly Nicholson and husband Chris, of Morgantown; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon McGinnis.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, and from 10 a.m. on Friday, September, 7, until the time of services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Russell Gatian officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with military honors.
