Barbara Sue Hamon, 71, of Philippi, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born on July 18, 1947, and raised in Tioga, she is the daughter of the late Tony and Ada Clemens Hamon.
She was a 1966 RHS graduate. She worked at Foodland, in Craigsville, for 11 years and worked 29 years, in N.C., at Foodlion as a meat cutter. She always had a smile on her face and she never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Hamon and sister, Virginia “Sissy” Howard.
She is survived by her brother, Lonnie Hamon and wife, Barbara, of Kingwood; sister-in-law, Wilma Hamon, of Navarre, Fla.; three nieces, Kelly Hamon, of Navarre, Fla., Penny and husband, Paul Vild, of Philippi and Toni and husband, Kevin Johnson, of Elkins; three nephews, Kevin Hamon and wife, Shandar, of Kingwood, Danny Howard and wife, Beth, of Flemington, Ronnie Howard, of Philippi; four great-nieces, Alainnie Hamon, of Kingwood, Courtney Vild, of Grafton, Brandi and husband, Danny Howard-Stickel, of Morgantown, Amanda Howard and companion, Nathaniel Delauder, of Flemington; two great-nephews, Hayden Hamon, of Kingwood, Paul Vild and wife, Kelly, of Junior; nine great-great nieces and nephews, Levi, Cade and Quinn Vild, Garrett Cross, Chelsea Lopez, MacKenzie Cross, Olivia and Emily Stickel, Matthew Howard; best friends, Dale and Flo Sage, of Raleigh, N.C., and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at the Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, in Richwood, from noon on Saturday, August, 25, until the 1 p.m. service with the Rev. Pat Greene officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview/Curry Cemetery, in Tioga.
