The sexual abuse scandal that rocked the Roman Catholic Church in recent days marked the culmination of seven decades of horrendous wrongdoing by hundreds of priests.
Let me say that sexual abuse is not exclusive to the Roman Catholic Church. Protestants and Baptists are as guilty in many cases. However, the scope of a multinational cover-up is unique to the Roman Catholic Church. The fact that this church has made settlements with the victims to the tune of $3 billion is also unique to that church.
In the Catholic Herald, Madison, Wis., Bishop Robert C. Morlino writes of the current situation, “It is time to admit that there is a homosexual subculture within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church that is wreaking great devastation in the vineyard of the Lord.” He continues, “In the specific situations at hand, we are talking about deviant sexual — almost exclusively homosexual.”
These clerics should be defrocked, excommunicated, arrested by the authorities and fitted for a millstone! (“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6)
It is time for the Roman Catholic laity to drain the Vatican’s clerical swamp.
